Meet the Spice Farmer: Rajan Nair of Wayanad
May 28, 2026

Rajan Nair's family has farmed the same 14-acre plot in Wayanad for three generations. His grandfather planted the first cardamom seedlings in 1952; his father added black pepper and turmeric in the 1970s. Rajan himself has spent the last decade introducing regenerative practices — cover cropping, composting, and a strict no-pesticide pledge.
We source 100% of our green cardamom from Rajan's estate. The flavour difference is immediate — floral, complex, almost citrusy in a way that commercial cardamom simply cannot match.
