India produced 1.5 million cases of wine in 2025. Ninety percent of that came from the Nashik valley, and a small but growing proportion of it is genuinely outstanding. Sula Vineyards' Rasa Shiraz, York Winery's Arros Rosé and Fratelli's Sette — these are wines that can hold their own against anything from the Old World.
